Russian Missile Strike on Kyiv Leaves Casualties, Sparks Massive Fires

Russia launched a missile strike on Kyiv overnight on Wednesday, July 8, triggering multiple fires, injuring two people, and damaging warehouses, administrative buildings, and public transport across the capital.

This was reported by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

According to rescuers, the greatest destruction was suffered by the Svyatoshynskyi and Desnyanskyi districts of the capital.

An administrative building and warehouses caught fire in the Sviatoshyn district. Two people were injured in the attack, one of whom was hospitalized.

“In the Svyatoshyn district, a fire broke out in an administrative building and warehouses. Two people were injured, one of whom was hospitalized,” the State Emergency Service reported.

In addition, a fire broke out at another address in the same area on the territory of a garage cooperative. Rescuers extinguished the fire. An administrative building and trams were also damaged as a result of the impact.

In the Desnyanskyi district, warehouses caught fire due to a Russian attack.

“Currently, the fires have been localized in all other locations. Rescuers and all relevant services are working on site. Information about victims and injured people is being clarified,” the State Emergency Service noted.
