Romania declared air raid alert at night due to Russian attack
On the night of August 6, an air raid alarm was declared in the northern part of the Romanian county of Tulcea due to a Russian drone attack on the south of Odessa region.
Digi24 reports this.
Romanian radars detected air targets in Ukrainian airspace near the Romanian border. In response, the General Inspectorate for Emergencies sent out a RO-Alert notification to residents of the region warning of possible debris falling and calling for shelter.
Two F-16 fighter jets were scrambled to monitor the airspace. However, no violations of the state border were recorded.
The alarm lasted for about 90 minutes. In Romanian settlements near the border, explosions were heard coming from the Ukrainian side, and a fire was also visible.
The Romanian Foreign Ministry said the situation would be checked on the spot and NATO partners would be kept informed.
