Romania raised a helicopter due to the Russian attack on the Odessa region: what is known

On the night of June 26, Romania declared an air alert due to a Russian attack on the Odessa region. Amidst the attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure near the border, the country deployed a military helicopter to monitor the air situation.

This was reported by the Ministry of National Defense of Romania.

The department noted that on the night of June 25-26, Russia carried out another drone attack on civilian facilities and infrastructure in Ukraine near the river border with Romania.

According to the Romanian side, at 03:47, residents of the northern Tulcea county received a message via the RO-Alert alert system. Shortly after, at 03:57, a Romanian Air Force IAR 330 Puma helicopter, which was monitoring air targets near the border, was launched.

The Romanian Defense Ministry said the helicopter was monitoring the situation about 31 kilometers east of the city of Sulina. The air alert was canceled at 04:23.

At the same time, Romania emphasized that no violations of its own airspace or the fall of debris or aircraft on the territory of the country were recorded.

The Romanian Defense Ministry also reported that it continues to maintain contact with allies and provide them with information about the situation related to Russian attacks near the Ukrainian-Romanian border.
