On Saturday, October 17, two drones flew into Romanian airspace, followed by F-16 fighter jets. The Romanian military shot down both drones after they crossed state airspace.

This was reported by the Ministry of National Defense of Romania.

Romanian radar systems detected a group of objects approximately 120 kilometers east of Snake Island in the Black Sea. The objects were moving in a southwesterly direction.

In response to the detection of the objects, F-16 fighters of the Romanian Air Force were scrambled.

After two drones entered the country’s airspace, Romanian fighter jets shot them down.

By the way, NATO ambassadors in Brussels next week will discuss the increase in attacks on ships near Romania and Bulgaria . The reason for the meeting was the recent incidents with drones, which resulted in two ships catching fire and seven sailors going missing.

As a reminder, on October 13, drones attacked two ships near the coast of Bulgaria. According to preliminary data, one of them sank. The entire crew, including seven Ukrainian citizens, was evacuated from the other.
