Moscow has begun installing Pantsir-SMD-E anti-aircraft missile systems directly on the roofs of high-rise buildings. The Russians are strengthening the capital’s air defenses amid regular drone attacks.
This is reported by military analysts.
It is noted that the system was lifted onto the roof of the Nordstar Tower business center in the Northern Administrative District of Moscow. The installation was carried out using a heavy Mi-26 helicopter.
“The video shows how the complex is delivered and installed directly on the roof of the building. This indicates a new level of militarization of urban space,” the observers note.

This is a stationary version of the Pantsir-SMD-E, which is designed specifically to combat drones. Unlike the classic modification, this system has no guns and uses only missiles.
“The complex is equipped with missiles of various ranges — from short to 20 kilometers, as well as small-sized interceptors for massive drone attacks,” analysts explain.
Experts also note that the placement of air defense systems on rooftops is related to the problems of urban development – ground-based systems have limited visibility and are less effective in conditions of dense infrastructure.
According to experts, Moscow continues to actively strengthen its air defense system, concentrating it around the capital. Some of the complexes, according to analysts, could have been transferred from other regions of Russia.
We will remind, the Security Service of Ukraine, together with the Defense Forces , struck a military-industrial complex enterprise and a number of oil facilities in the Moscow region .
As reported, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine announced strikes on a number of facilities in Moscow and the Moscow region, including a refinery, an oil depot, and a microelectronics production facility.
By the way, oil refineries in Moscow and Ryazan temporarily stopped operating after attacks by Ukrainian drones on May 15 and 17.
