Rosneft refinery attacked in Russia: the company produces jet fuel for the army

A fire broke out at an oil refinery in Novokuybyshevsk, Samara Oblast, Russia, after a drone attack. The plant produces jet fuel used by Russian military aircraft.

This is reported by Telegram channels Astra, Exilenova+, and other monitoring resources.

On the morning of November 30, residents of Novokuybyshevsk heard explosions and reported air defenses. Around six in the morning, the region officially declared a threat of a drone attack, but by that time it was already underway.

Before that, the airport in the Samara region was also closed.

The Novokuybyshevsk Oil Refinery has been part of the Rosneft group since 2007. Its capacity is about 8.8 million tons of oil per year.

The enterprise produces over 20–30 types of petroleum products, including automotive gasoline, Euro-5 diesel fuel, jet fuel, bitumen, and petroleum coke.

It should be noted that the attack on the Novokuibyshev refinery occurred against the backdrop of renewed Ukrainian attacks on Russian oil refining infrastructure. Such attacks were effectively suspended in mid-October after pressure from the Donald Trump administration, which insisted on Kyiv’s restraint in its attempts to resume talks with Moscow.
