Rubio expels Iranian delegation from US – Axios

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio ordered the Iranian delegation to the UN General Assembly to leave the country immediately after talks between Washington and Tehran reached an impasse.
Axios reports this, citing an American official and a second informed source.
Among those ordered to leave was Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
“Secretary Rubio kicked out the Iranian delegation, which had already overstayed its welcome. The UN General Assembly is over, so it’s time for them to leave,” the US official said.
According to Axios, on the morning of September 28, the White House was counting on progress in the negotiations, but by the evening it became clear that they had reached an impasse.
After that, the US mission to the UN informed the Iranian side of the need to immediately leave New York. A few hours later, the delegation, together with Araghchi, flew to Doha. At the same time, one of the sources noted that the Iranian Foreign Minister had planned to leave the US that night anyway.
As a reminder, Iran previously submitted proposals to the US for regulating and opening the Strait of Hormuz . Tehran then stated its readiness for diplomatic contacts in New York.
