Russia announced the seizure of a village in the Sumy region, but the Ukrainian Armed Forces denied it.

The Russian Ministry of Defense reported the alleged capture of the village of Novokostyantynivka, also known as Pervoe May, in the Sumy region. Ukrainian defense forces denied this information.

The Kursk troop group reported this.

According to military data, Novokostyantynivka is under the control of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, and fighting in this area continues.

“The Russian Ministry of Defense’s statement about the alleged capture of the village of Novokonstantinovka (Pervoe Maya) is untrue,” the group emphasized.

Ukrainian military officials noted that the Russian side regularly uses such statements for internal propaganda and to create the appearance of success in front of its own leadership.

The Kursk group urged all to follow official statements from the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. According to them, the situation in the area remains under control, and Ukrainian units continue to carry out combat missions.
