Russia announces foiled assassination attempt on high-ranking official: target named
The FSB said it had allegedly prevented an assassination attempt on a high-ranking Russian official. Russian media claim that the target was Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu.
This is reported by Russian media.
According to the FSB, the attack was planned to be carried out during Shoigu’s private visit to a cemetery in Moscow. The security forces claim that they established a “Ukrainian trace” and allegedly disrupted the preparation of the attack, but the Russian side has not provided evidence for such accusations.
It is reported that the attack was prepared by a sabotage group, which, according to Russian sources, the FSB “discovered” at the initial stage.
Official Russian structures have not yet provided additional details or confirmation.
It was previously reportedthat Armen Sarkissian, a well-known criminal authority and founder of the Arbat battalion, died in Moscow.
