Russia attacked a passenger train in the Odessa region: there are casualties.
On August 13, Russian troops attacked a passenger train in the Odessa region with a drone. The strike killed the driver and his assistant.
This was announced by the head of the board of Ukrzaliznytsia, Oleksandr Pertsovsky.
According to him, the Russians targeted the locomotive of a passenger train with a Shahed missile. Before the attack, the train had stopped at a station to evacuate passengers due to the threat of hostile drones.
“The abrupt maneuver of the Shahed jet lasted only a few minutes, and the locomotive crew didn’t have time to completely stop the train and evacuate,” Pertsovsky noted.
Meanwhile, 340 passengers and the train crew were evacuated, with no injuries. Passengers are scheduled to be transported to Odesa by bus.
Ukrzaliznytsia reported that they are establishing all the circumstances of the attack.
The company emphasized that the deceased workers carried out their duties until the very end and tried to ensure the safety of passengers.
