Russia attacked a ship in the Black Sea: the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine rescued 16 sailors

On the night of July 22, a Russian strike drone attacked the bulk carrier Golden Rose in the Black Sea. After being hit, a fire broke out on the vessel, but Ukrainian border guards were able to evacuate the entire crew.

This was reported by the State Border Service of Ukraine.

According to the State Border Guard Service, the drone hit the stern of the bulk carrier, causing a large-scale fire on the vessel. The ship was detected using technical surveillance equipment, after which Coast Guard boats immediately went to it.

The rescue operation took place at night and under constant threat of new Russian drone and missile attacks. Despite this, the boat crews managed to approach the damaged vessel and evacuate all the sailors.

A total of 16 crew members were rescued – two Syrian citizens and 14 Egyptian citizens. All were taken to shore. According to border guards, none of the sailors were injured.
