Russia attacked a shopping mall in Kryvyi Rih twice in a row: five people died, 91 were injured

Russian forces twice attacked a shopping mall in Kryvyi Rih, Dnipropetrovsk region, on August 21. The strikes killed 6 people and injured 91 others, including 6 children.

This was announced by the head of the Dnipropetrovsk OVA, Oleksandr Ganzha.

The first reports of the attack came at around 5 p.m. Ganzha said that the strike on Kryvyi Rih damaged a shopping center and caused a fire. Later, it became known about the first death and 12 injuries. The OVA reported that shops were burning inside the shopping center.

Later, the number of injured and dead began to increase. Initially, 2 dead and 15 injured were reported, and later – 50 injured, including 6 children. In the end, the number of dead increased to 5, and the number of injured – to 91. 21 injured are in serious condition, including 1 child.

As of 6:30 p.m., it was reported that there was a sixth victim of Russian shelling.

“A man who was seriously injured during an enemy attack on Kryvyi Rih has just died in the hospital. This Russian strike ended the lives of 6 people. My sincere condolences to the family,” Ganzha said.

According to the OVA, Russian troops attacked the largest shopping center in Kryvyi Rih twice. The consequences of the strikes are being clarified, and emergency services are continuing to work on the site.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the first strike caused a fire, and about half an hour later the Russian military launched a second strike on the site where rescuers were already working.

“The Russians struck an absolutely cynical and despicable blow at an ordinary shopping center in Kryvyi Rih. The strike drones were launched in two waves: half an hour after the first hit and fire, there was a second strike on the rescue services,” Zelenskyy said.

He expressed condolences to the families of the deceased and said that all the injured were being provided with the necessary medical assistance.

“Such strikes are simply a terrorist attack. And the world needs to respond to them accordingly – with real pressure on the aggressor. For peace to exist, Russia needs real responsibility,” the president emphasized.

Recall that on the night of August 21, Russian occupation forces attacked the village of Lebyazhe, Chuhuiv district, Kharkiv region, with drones . As a result of the strike, two women were killed and two more people were injured.
