Russia attacked a Turkish ship in the Black Sea: one person died

Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga said that Russia attacked a Turkish cargo ship in the Black Sea. This happened after the Turkish Foreign Minister visited Russia.

Sibiga wrote about this on the social network X.

“At night, Russia attacked a Turkish-owned dry cargo ship in the Black Sea. And this happened right after a high-level Turkish visit to Russia. This is a clear demonstration that Russia’s words cannot be trusted. Russia remains the main threat to security and prosperity in the Black Sea,” he stressed.

Sibiga also reported that Ukrainian military sailors rescued the crew of the stricken vessel. Among those rescued were mostly citizens of Turkey and India. One crew member, a citizen of Egypt, died.

In addition, two other vessels, flying the flags of Palau and Belize, were damaged. Their crews were not injured.

“We inform all states and international organizations about this brazen attack on international law and freedom of navigation. This requires a strong and principled response from the international community and the International Maritime Organization,” Sybiga noted.

Earlier, “Pryamiy” reported that an unusual incident occurred in the English Channel involving a Russian warship and a civilian British yacht. According to British media, the Russian frigate opened warning fire when the ships came close.

Also , at night, Russian occupation forces attacked the civilian ship ANT , which was heading from the port of Odessa region to Turkey.
