Russia attacked Odessa again: an energy facility was hit and a woman was injured

On the night of December 19, Russian forces carried out another air strike on Odessa, damaging a critical energy infrastructure facility. The strike and powerful shockwave caused serious damage to civilian infrastructure in one of the city’s most densely populated areas.

According to regional and city authorities, after the attack, a significant part of the residential area was left without electricity, water, and heating. The blast wave broke out windows in a five-story residential building, and damage was also recorded to other buildings.

A woman was injured as a result of the shelling – she received moderate injuries. The victim was hospitalized and is receiving necessary medical care.

Emergency crews and specialized utility services are working at the affected areas to restore damaged networks. In parallel, a survey of the housing stock is underway to record the damage and identify residents who need assistance.

The authorities report that indestructible points have been deployed and are operating in Odessa, and all services have been put on high alert in order to restore electricity, heat, and water to the city as soon as possible.

The head of the Odessa OVA, Oleg Kiper, emphasized that Russian troops are purposefully striking vital facilities, trying to destabilize the life of a peaceful city.

As a reminder, as a result of the Russian attack on the night of December 13, electricity, water, and heat supplies were cut off in Odessa. Inviolability points were deployed in the city and drinking water supplies were organized.

!On December 4, in Odessa , energy workers restored power supply to some critical infrastructure facilities after the Russian attack.

As reported on December 18, the Odessa region restricted movement to certain checkpoints on the border with Moldova due to a Russian air strike . Russia struck a critical infrastructure facility in the region.
