Russia attacked Sumy region with drones and aerial bombs: one person killed, many injured

Russian occupation forces have struck dozens of settlements in Sumy region over the past 24 hours. The attacks killed one person and injured 18 more residents, including four children.

This is reported by the National Police.

Communities in Sumy, Shostka, Okhtyrka, and Konotop districts came under fire. In total, law enforcement officers recorded shelling of 36 settlements. Investigators and explosives technicians worked at the sites of the strikes, documenting the consequences of the attacks.

In the Glukhiv community, a Russian drone attacked a car, killing a 72-year-old man.

In the same community, a five-month-old boy was injured when a drone hit a residential building. Another drone hit a minibus, injuring five people.

“Among the injured are a man and four women of different ages. Everyone was provided with the necessary assistance,” the Sumy Region police reported.

In the Kyrykivska community, an 85-year-old woman was injured when a drone hit a private house. In the Krasnopilska community, a 36-year-old man was injured as a result of a drone strike, and an 88-year-old local resident was injured after an aerial bomb hit a residential building.

In the Sumy community, the number of victims reached eight people. Among them are two young boys aged 6 and 11, a 15-year-old girl, as well as five adults.

In the Mykolaivska settlement community, a 73-year-old woman was injured due to shelling, and in the Khutir-Mykhailivska community, a 74-year-old local resident was injured as a result of a drone attack.

“Residential buildings, cars, and civilian infrastructure were damaged,” law enforcement officials noted.

Investigators have opened criminal proceedings under the article on war crimes for all facts of the Russian attacks. Work on documenting the consequences of the shelling is ongoing.
