Russia attacked the energy sector again: one of DTEK’s thermal power plants stopped

Russian occupation forces launched a massive attack on one of DTEK’s thermal power plants. As a result of the shelling, the plant stopped generating electricity and its equipment suffered significant damage.

This was reported by DTEK.

“Russia massively shelled one of DTEK’s thermal power plants. The plant stopped generating electricity. The equipment was significantly damaged,” the company said in a post.

DTEK also recalled that Russian forces are systematically attacking Ukrainian energy infrastructure. Since the start of the full-scale invasion of the thermal power plant, the company has suffered over 230 attacks.

There is currently no information on the amount of damaged equipment, the extent of the destruction, and the timing of the plant’s restoration. The company did not specify the name of the TPP that came under fire.
