Russia attacked the energy sector: five regions and the capital were left without electricity

Russian strikes have left consumers in five regions without electricity. Currently, there is no electricity in Sumy, Donetsk, Vinnytsia, Zaporizhia, Kyiv regions and the city of Kyiv.
This was reported by NPC Ukrenergo.
Where safety conditions permit, emergency restoration work is already underway. Power engineers are doing everything possible to restore power to all subscribers as soon as possible.
At the same time, on the evening of September 7, repair crews of NPC Ukrenergo restored power supply to the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. Since August 20, the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant has been completely disconnected from the external network. This is the 27th and one of the longest complete power outages, when the plant was forced to operate from backup diesel generators.
“Electricity consumption has decreased. Today, September 8, as of 09:30, it was 5.6% lower than at the same time the previous day — on Monday. The reason for the changes is clear weather almost throughout Ukraine, which causes high efficiency of household solar power plants and a corresponding decrease in energy consumption from the general network,” the department noted.
Yesterday, September 7, the daily maximum consumption was recorded in the evening. It was at the same level as the maximum of the previous working day – on Friday, September 4.
In particular, Ukrenergo advises to postpone active energy consumption today to the period of the most effective operation of industrial solar power plants – from 11:00 to 15:00.
