Russia attacked the Kherson Thermal Power Plant: all heat-generating equipment was destroyed.
On the night of August 27, Russian troops launched a second attack on the Kherson Thermal Power Plant, using four guided aerial bombs.
Naftogaz reported this.
The attack resulted in critical damage to the station. All heat-generating equipment was completely destroyed and disabled.
The company emphasized that the CHP plant is a purely civilian facility and provided heat to a significant portion of residential buildings in Kherson.
According to Naftogaz acting CEO Serhiy Fedorenko, the attack was aimed at leaving tens of thousands of city residents without heat on the eve of the heating season.
“Its only goal is to terrorize the civilian population and attempt to deprive tens of thousands of Kherson residents of a source of heat on the eve of the heating season,” he said.
