Russia attacked Ukraine overnight with Tsirkon missiles, ballistic missiles, and drones: air defenses shot down 227 targets.

On the night of September 24, Russian forces launched a massive combined arms attack on Ukraine, employing anti-ship and ballistic missiles, as well as 282 attack drones of various types. Air defense forces shot down or suppressed 227 aerial targets.

The Ukrainian Air Force reported this.

The attack began around 6:00 PM on September 23. Russian forces launched four Zircon anti-ship missiles from the Kursk, Rostov, and Oryol regions of the Russian Federation, as well as Iskander-M, S-400, and KN-23 ballistic missiles from the Kursk and Bryansk regions.

In addition, Russia used 282 attack UAVs, including the Shahed, including jet-powered Gerbera, Banderol/Dan-T missile-destroying UAVs, and Parodiya drone imitators.

The drones were launched from the areas of Orel, Millerovo, Shatalovo, Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, as well as the temporarily occupied territories of the Donetsk region and Crimea and the waters of the Sea of Azov.

The main directions of the attack were Odessa and Kyiv.

As of 08:00, air defense forces destroyed or suppressed:

• 4 Zircon missiles;
• 3 Iskander-M/S-400/KN-23 ballistic missiles;
• 1 “Banderol”/”Dan-T” ammunition;
• 219 UAVs of the Shahed, Gerber and other types.

At the same time, the Air Force recorded air strikes at 13 locations. Debris from downed targets fell at another 10 locations.

By the time the information was released, the attack was ongoing: dozens of Russian drones remained in Ukrainian airspace.
