Russia attacked Ukraine with 116 drones overnight: Air defense destroyed more than half

On the night of December 24, Russian forces launched a massive drone attack in Ukraine, using 116 drones of various types. The Defense Forces neutralized more than half of them.
The Ukrainian Air Force reported this.
According to military data, the occupiers launched approximately 90 attack “shahids,” as well as Gerbera drones and other UAVs from Russian territory and temporarily occupied Crimea, including from the areas of Millerovo, Kursk, Orel, Primorsko-Akhtarsky, and Gvardeysky.
The air attack was repelled by aircraft, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, unmanned aerial systems, and mobile fire teams. As of 8:30 AM, air defenses had shot down or suppressed 60 drones in the north, south, and east of the country.
At the same time, 48 attack UAVs were recorded hitting 19 locations. The Russians targeted a significant portion of the drones at a critical infrastructure facility in the Chernihiv region.
The State Emergency Service reported that yesterday evening, enemy strikes on critical infrastructure in Chernihiv caused a fire that was quickly extinguished. In another part of the city, a drone struck the technical floor of a high-rise building, causing two people to suffer acute stress reactions.
As a reminder, on the night of December 23, during a massive drone and missile attack, the Russian army struck Ukrnafta’s infrastructure.
