Russia attacked Ukraine overnight with 176 strike drones, including 92 Shahed jet drones. Ukrainian air defenses shot down or suppressed 140 enemy UAVs. Hits were recorded at 19 locations, and debris from downed drones fell at another 13.
This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
For the attack, Russian troops used Shahed drones, including jet drones, Gerber-type drones, and Parody simulator drones. The launches were carried out from Russian territory — from the directions of Bryansk, Shatalovo, Orel, Kursk, and Primorsky-Akhtarsk, as well as from the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk region and Crimea, in particular the Gvardiyskyi district.
The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, as well as mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
“According to preliminary data, as of 08:00, air defenses shot down/suppressed 140 enemy Shahed UAVs (68 of them jet), Gerber, and drones of other types,” the Air Force reported.
At the same time, the attack was still ongoing at the time of publication of the report: another 10 strike drones were in the air, and the combat work of the air defense forces continued.
