On the night of Thursday, June 18, Russian occupation forces launched another massive attack on the territory of Ukraine, using ballistic missiles and hundreds of attack drones. Air defense forces neutralized most of the enemy targets, but hits were also recorded.

This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the military, the attack began on the evening of June 17. In total, the occupiers launched seven Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles from Russian territory and 239 strike simulation and strike drones of various types.

Aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups, and unmanned systems operators were involved in repelling the air attack.

“As of 08:00, air defenses have shot down and suppressed 216 air targets,” the Air Force reported.

According to preliminary data, Ukrainian defenders destroyed or suppressed four ballistic missiles and 212 drones of various types.

At the same time, the consequences of the attack could not be completely avoided. The military recorded the hits of two ballistic missiles and 26 strike drones at nine locations.

“Two ballistic missiles and 26 strike UAVs were recorded at 9 locations,” the Air Force noted.

In addition, debris from downed targets was recorded at seven other locations. Information about one of the missiles is currently being clarified.

The Air Force emphasized that the air attack was still ongoing as of this morning, and enemy drones remained in the Ukrainian sky, so citizens were urged not to ignore air alert signals and to follow safety rules.
