Russia attacked Ukraine with 280 air attack weapons: air defense shot down 236 of them

On the night of August 19, Russia attacked Ukraine with 280 air attack weapons, 236 of which were shot down by the Air Defense Forces.

The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this.

Since 20:00 Monday, August 18, the Russians have attacked Ukraine with 280 air attack weapons:

270 Shahed-type attack UAVs and various types of simulator drones in the directions of Kursk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk;

five Iskander-M ballistic missiles from the Rostov and Voronezh regions, as well as from temporarily occupied Crimea;

five X-101 cruise missiles from strategic aviation aircraft over the Caspian Sea.

The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

According to preliminary data, as of 09:00 Tuesday, August 19, air defense shot down/suppressed 236 air targets:

  • 230 Shahed type UAVs and various types of drone simulators;
  • two Iskander-M missiles;
  • four X-101 cruise missiles.

Four missiles and 40 UAVs were hit at 16 locations, and downed targets (debris) fell at three locations.
