Russia attacked Ukraine with 426 strike UAVs and 24 missiles: how it tested its air defense

The Russian occupiers attacked Ukraine with 426 strike UAVs and 24 missiles. 224 air targets were shot down, 203 were lost in location.
This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
On the night of July 21, the Russians attacked Ukraine with 450 airstrikes:
- 426 Shahed-type strike UAVs and simulator drones of various types;
- 5 Kh-47 M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles;
- 4 Caliber cruise missiles;
- 1 Iskander-K cruise missile;
- 14 X-101 cruise missiles.
“The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine,” the Armed Forces of Ukraine said.
As of 09:30, air defenses had shot down and suppressed 224 enemy air attack vehicles:
- 200 Shahed attack UAVs;
- the vast majority of missiles were shot down by air defense systems, the rest were suppressed by electronic warfare/lost in location;
- 203 simulator drones did not reach their targets – they were lost in location (presumably suppressed by electronic warfare).
23 strike UAV hits were recorded in 3 locations, as well as debris falling in 12 locations.
It is worth noting that on the night of July 21, the Russians launched a massive drone and missile strike on Kyiv. The shelling of the capital caused fires to break out in several areas .
