On the night of Saturday, October 11, Russian forces launched a massive attack using 78 attack drones of various types. Ukrainian air defense forces shot down or suppressed 54 drones.
The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this.
The enemy launched Shahed, Gerber, and other drones in the Orel, Millerovo, Kursk, and Chauda directions in temporarily occupied Crimea. More than 40 of these were Shahed drones.
Electronic warfare units, mobile fire teams, and unmanned aerial systems of the Ukrainian Defense Forces were involved in repelling the air attack.
“According to preliminary data, as of 09:00, air defense forces shot down or suppressed 54 enemy UAVs of the Shahed, Gerber, and other types in the north, south, and east of the country,” the statement said.
Twenty-one drone strikes were recorded at six locations. The attack continues, with several enemy drones still remaining in the airspace.
