Russia attacked Ukraine with 97 drones: how its air defenses worked

On the night of Tuesday, June 24, Russian occupation forces launched an attack on Ukraine, launching 97 strike drones. Defense forces successfully destroyed 78 of them.
This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
As of this morning, 63 drones had been shot down by fire, and another 15 had been disabled or suppressed by electronic warfare. The attacks were recorded in six different locations in the east, south, and north of the country.
The drone attack, which included Shahed drones and simulators of various models, was carried out from Russian territory — from the directions of Orel, Millerovo, Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk — and from occupied Crimea, from Chaudy.
Air defense was provided by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare (EW) units, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
As a reminder, as of the morning of June 24, Russia has lost about 1,013,700 military personnel since the start of its full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Over the course of the day, the enemy’s losses in manpower reached 1,200 people.
As reported, over the past 24 hours, 165 combat clashes have occurred on the Russian-Ukrainian front. The hottest situation remains in the Pokrov direction.
