On the night of Wednesday, August 19, Russian occupation forces launched another combined strike on Ukraine, using ballistic missiles, strike drones, and loitering munitions. Air defense forces neutralized 58 air targets, but hits were also recorded.
This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the military, since the evening of August 18, the Russians have attacked Ukraine with two Iskander-M ballistic missiles, 65 strike drones of various types, including Shahed, jet drones, Gerbera, as well as Banderol loitering munitions and Parody simulator drones.
Enemy targets were launched from the territory of the Kursk and Oryol regions of the Russian Federation, as well as from temporarily occupied Donetsk and Crimea.
Aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces were involved in repelling the air attack.
As of 08:30, the Air Force confirmed the destruction or suppression of 56 drones and two Banderol loitering munitions in the north, east, and south of the country.
Despite the work of air defense, hits were recorded at ten locations. Fragments of downed air targets fell at three more locations.
The Air Force noted that the air attack continued after the morning report was released — several enemy drones remained in the sky.
“As of 08:30, air defenses have shot down and suppressed 56 UAVs and two “Banderoli”. The attack is ongoing,” the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.
