On the night of Tuesday, October 7, Russia again attacked Ukraine with strike drones and missiles. The airstrikes lasted for several hours in various regions, and explosions were heard by residents of the northern and eastern regions.

As reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the enemy attacked with two Iskander-M / KN-23 ballistic missiles from the Rostov region and 152 attack drones of the Shahed, Gerbera types and other modifications. The launches were carried out from different directions – Orel, Kursk, Shatalovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russian Federation) and Chauda (occupied Crimea).

“About 80 of them are Shahed drones,” the military said.

Aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine were involved in repelling the air attack.

According to preliminary data as of 09:00, Ukrainian air defense destroyed or suppressed 88 enemy drones, including Shahed and Gerber, mainly over the north and east of the country.

“Two missiles and 52 strike UAVs were recorded hitting 10 locations, as well as falling debris in two areas,” the Air Force reported.

The military says the attack is still ongoing. Several enemy drones are still in the airspace.

As a reminder, on the night of October 6, Russian forces launched a massive attack on Ukraine, launching 116 strike drones of various types. Ukrainian air defenses destroyed or suppressed 83 drones that were flying over the northern, eastern, southern, and central regions of the country.
