On the night of Wednesday, July 16, Russia carried out a large-scale missile and drone strike on Ukraine. An Iskander-M ballistic missile was launched from the Crimean peninsula, as well as about 400 Shahed strike drones and imitation drones of various types.
This is reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The strikes were carried out from Russian territory — from the directions of Shatalovo, Bryansk, Kursk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, as well as from temporarily occupied Crimea, in particular Chaudy. At the same time, about 255 of these drones were Shahed.
This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The main targets of the attack were Kryvyi Rih, Kharkiv, and Vinnytsia.
As of 08:30, Ukrainian air defenses have successfully destroyed 198 enemy Shahed drones across the country — in the north, south, east, and center. In addition, 145 imitation drones were detected and suppressed by electronic warfare systems.
Aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, as well as mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces actively repelled the attack.
One missile and 57 drone hits were recorded in 12 different areas, and debris fell in two more locations.
