Russia continues to hunt Budanov even during negotiations

Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, stated that Russia continues its attempts to eliminate him, even though discussions of possible peace formats and negotiations are ongoing.

He said this in an interview with the British publication The Times.

According to him, the threat to his life remains constant, despite increased security measures.

“I shouldn’t trust anyone, I have to achieve a result,” Budanov said.

He also noted that he had already survived at least ten assassination attempts, some of which were not public.

The material also recalls previous incidents. In particular, in 2019, an explosive device under Budanov’s car went off prematurely. In 2023, his wife and several intelligence officers were poisoned with heavy metals – the Ukrainian side attributes this to Russian special services.

Also in 2024, the SBU reported the discovery of a plan to attack Budanov’s motorcade using missiles and FPV drones, in which, according to the investigation, employees of the State Security Service working for the Russian Federation were involved. The suspects were then detained.

As previously reported, the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, commented on possible changes in the field of mobilization and the work of territorial recruitment centers . According to him, as long as the war continues, these problems cannot be completely resolved.
