Russia could attack NATO countries by 2029 – Czech military official

Most NATO defense officials believe that Russia could attack the alliance in the coming years.
This was stated by the Chief of the General Staff of the Czech Armed Forces, General Karel Rzegka, in an interview with Ukrinform .
“When I am asked ‘about the approach of war,’ I answer that I am not saying that war is approaching. I am saying that it could happen,” he said.
According to him, in order to avoid an attack, reliable deterrence is needed – within NATO or together with partners. For this, it is necessary to have defensive capabilities and capabilities.
“We see in Ukraine that the Russians made a serious miscalculation. They did not expect to be mired in a war that has been going on for four years, that they would lose thousands of people every month. I do not think that was their intention. And our duty is to do everything possible so that they do not make such miscalculations again with respect to anyone else,” Rzhegka explained.
The general separately emphasized the lack of investment in the defense sector over the past decades. Against this background, there are certain problems with capabilities and capacities, as well as resources.
“We have not invested enough in defense in previous decades and have been preparing for different types of scenarios for a long time. But let me state clearly: if this (provocation on NATO territory – ed.) happened tomorrow, we would fight with what we have. Without hesitation,” the official assured.
Let us remind you that the Kremlin is actively forming the psychological and informational basis for a possible future war against NATO.
By the way, Russia is creating a network of “Trojan horses” by buying up real estate near military bases in NATO countries to launch a coordinated sabotage campaign.
As it became known, a propaganda campaign has been intensified in Russia regarding the creation of the “Narva People’s Republic” , which may indicate that the Kremlin is preparing to attack Estonia.
