Russia expanded the Zapad-2025 exercise zone: the exercises moved closer to NATO borders

Russia and Belarus expanded the Zapad-2025 military exercise zone, in particular, the Baltic Fleet conducted exercises in the Kaliningrad region.

As it became known, the Russian Marines were training to counter the landing of a “potential enemy” on the coast in the Kaliningrad region.

In addition, the military practiced entering combat with a hypothetical opponent, and also conducted live fire exercises with small arms and BTR-82A armored personnel carriers.

For simulated training, the Russians used the Berezhok combat missile and artillery complex, which was used to destroy a naval drone.

During the exercises, Tu-22M3 bombers patrolled the neutral waters of the Barents Sea.

It is worth noting that the Russian Armed Forces recently deployed an Iskander missile system on a highway in the Kaliningrad region, near the border with Poland.

As a reminder, on Sunday, September 14, as part of military exercises, the forces of the Russian Northern Fleet launched a hypersonic Zircon missile at a target in the Barents Sea.

By the way, according to Lithuanian intelligence, up to 30 thousand soldiers will take part in the joint military exercises of Russia and Belarus “West-2025” .
