Russia first fired a missile at the Southern Bridge in Kyiv: photos of the consequences

In Kyiv, the Southern Bridge was damaged by a Russian overnight missile attack. This is the first missile strike on the structure, which Russian forces have already attacked with drones in early October. Traffic on the bridge is currently completely blocked, and restrictions are in place on the green line of the metro.

This was announced by Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko, who published photos of the damaged Southern Bridge.

According to him, specialists are working on the site to assess the extent of the damage. Due to damage to the metro infrastructure, train traffic on the green line was temporarily suspended on the section between the Osokorky and Chervony Khutir stations.

At the same time, the red metro line operates at all stations. Trains run between “Akademmistechkom” and “Lisovaya”.

The night attack also damaged infrastructure between Darnytsia and Chernihivska stations, as well as the exits from Lisova station. Metro workers worked all night to ensure train movement.

To improve transport connections between the left and right banks of the capital, the city authorities have increased the number of buses on ground public transport routes.

According to Klitschko, one person was killed and 14 others were injured in the Russian attacks on Kyiv, which have been ongoing since the evening of October 26. Nine of the wounded were hospitalized.

As a reminder, a 46-year-old woman was killed and 14 others were injured in a Russian missile attack on Kyiv on the night of October 27. Hits were recorded in six districts of the capital. Due to the consequences of the shelling, the operation of the green metro line was temporarily changed and bus services were increased.
