The Tver District Court of Moscow, at the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation, recognized 13 figures and five organizations from Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia as “accomplices of Nazi Germany.”

This was reported by the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation.

According to the Russian agency, the court established a “fact of legal significance” regarding the involvement of a number of figures and organizations from the Baltic countries in war crimes and crimes against humanity during World War II.

Among the organizations that the Russian court recognized as “accomplices of Nazi Germany” are “Omakaitse”, “Aizsargi”, “Perkonkrusts”, “Lithuanian Front of Activists” and “Union of Lithuanian Nationalists”.

The decision also applies to 13 individual figures from Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia.

The Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation stated that such a decision is allegedly important for “preserving historical memory”, stopping “falsifications of history” and “protecting the national interests” of Russia.

In August, the same Tver District Court of Moscow, at the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation, recognized Stepan Bandera, Roman Shukhevych, the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists, and the Ukrainian Insurgent Army as “accomplices of Nazi Germany.”

Against this background, Russia also regularly accuses Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia of allegedly violating the rights of the Russian-speaking population and uses historical themes in its rhetoric regarding the Baltic countries.

It was previously reported that Russia is creating informational preconditions for possible provocations against the Baltic countries .

The Baltic countries also warned about the risk of new Russian provocations in the region .
