Russia has begun a new phase of the war: how the Kremlin increased pressure on Ukraine
Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine has entered a new phase, accompanied by increased physical, psychological, economic and political pressure. Russia is intensifying attacks on Ukraine’s military logistics, infrastructure and economy.

According to the publication, the line between the front and the rear is becoming increasingly blurred: drones attack military personnel and transport, and the parties try to disrupt the enemy’s logistics deep in the rear. At the same time, Ukraine is faced with the use of Shahed jets and an increase in the number of missile strikes.
It is noted that Russia is ahead of Ukraine in the pace of production and technology of long-range weapons. Ukrainian air defense forces and aviation have limited resources, in particular due to a lack of ammunition and Patriot interceptors to counter ballistic missiles.
A separate focus of Russian attacks is the Ukrainian economy. The strikes are damaging industrial enterprises, warehouses, supermarkets, and transport infrastructure, and Kyiv’s storage capacity has been reduced by 80%.
According to the publication, Russian strikes have damaged more than 250 locomotives this year and blocked the operation of deep-water ports in Odessa, creating additional risks for Ukraine’s agricultural exports.
Ukraine is facing a decline in tax revenues amid rising military spending as exports fall and businesses collapse. Prime Minister Serhiy Koretsky said the government could lose 70 billion hryvnia in taxes due to the increased shelling.
Of particular concern is the state of the power system ahead of the heating season. The vulnerability of centralized thermal power plants could lead to large-scale outages, particularly in Kyiv. At the same time, Ukraine continues to develop its own weapons production. Almost half of the country’s 20 largest taxpayers are now associated with military technology.
Journalists note that the Ukrainian military is confident in its ability to hold the front, but increasing Russian pressure on the rear regions creates serious challenges for Ukraine on the eve of winter.
Earlier, US Army General and Supreme Allied Commander Europe from 1997 to 2000 , Wesley Clark, named the main challenges for Ukraine’s new military command . Among them, he highlighted technological development, own defense production, support for partners, and effective use of funds.
The day before, Deputy Head of the GUR Vadim Skibitsky stated that Russia is currently not showing signs of readiness to cease fire and move on to full-fledged peace negotiations . The GUR believes that Moscow continues to count on achieving its goals on the battlefield.
