The military leadership of the Russian Armed Forces has received a task from the country’s political leadership to plan operations in the direction of Kyiv and Chernihiv. According to Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Pavlo Palisa, the Ukrainian side has already prepared response options, but there are currently no signs of the creation of an offensive group.

According to Pavlo Palisa, the President’s Office received verified information from several sources from Ukrainian intelligence that the Russian military leadership was tasked with preparing several options for conducting an operation in the direction of Kyiv and Chernihiv.

“I ask you to note: plan and prepare. That is, indeed, several options were considered there. Accordingly, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has developed possible options for response, defense, protection and counteraction to these measures,” said Pavlo Palisa.

At the same time, he noted that currently the Ukrainian side does not record the creation of a Russian offensive group in these areas.

“The priority task for us is to prevent the creation of conditions for the Russians to be able to launch any offensive actions at all,” Palisa added.

It was previously reported that the Russian army is increasing the intensity of strikes on Sloviansk and its surroundings, trying to weaken Ukrainian logistics and defenses against a possible ground offensive . The occupiers are increasingly using KABs, attack drones, and MLRS for attacks.

Recall that Russia could theoretically try to launch a new offensive in northern Ukraine , in particular towards the Kyiv and Chernihiv regions. At the same time, intelligence currently does not see the necessary prerequisites for such an operation.
