On January 15, the fact of Russian troops controlling a BM-35 attack drone via the Starlink system was recorded for the first time.
This was reported by Sergey Beskrestnov (Flash), a specialist in electronic warfare and communications systems.
According to him, previously the use of Starlink was recorded only on reconnaissance and strike drones of the “Lightning” type, but now the Russian military has begun to use this technology on full-fledged strike UAVs.
The expert emphasized that the appearance of kamikaze drones, in particular the Shahed type, controlled via Starlink is a matter of the near future. According to his assessment, it is not a matter of months, but of days.
Beskrestnov noted that such drones will be almost immune to electronic warfare and will be able to accurately hit targets under the direct control of operators from Russian territory.
It was previously reported that Russian troops first used a Shahed drone equipped with a man-portable anti-aircraft missile system (MANPADS).
Recall that the Russian occupiers began equipping Shahed kamikaze drones with infrared searchlights to complicate the work of Ukrainian air defense at night.
