First Deputy Minister of Energy Artem Nekrasov reported that Russia has changed the tactics of attacks on the Ukrainian energy system. Now the enemy is not striking large facilities at once, but rather targeted strikes in different regions of the country.
He spoke about this on the national telethon.
According to Nekrasov, while in the first years of the full-scale war the Russians tried to disable key electricity transmission centers with massive strikes, now they are acting more targetedly, choosing specific regions and facilities.
This approach, according to the official, indicates the enemy’s attempts to increase pressure on the Ukrainian energy sector and create chaos in the electricity supply system.
“The enemy is changing its tactics. If 2-3 years ago they selected large electricity transmission facilities and attacked them almost simultaneously, now they are working from region to region,” Nekrasov noted during the telethon.
The official also emphasized that the Ministry of Energy is involving all possible resources — local administrations, the State Emergency Service, energy companies, and emergency crews — to restore power supply as soon as possible after the Russian attacks.
In addition, Nekrasov appealed to Ukrainians to use electricity economically and limit the use of appliances that consume a lot of power. He emphasized that such awareness of citizens will help to more quickly stabilize the operation of Ukraine’s energy system in difficult war conditions.
By the way, energy workers restored power supply to 800,000 residents of Kyiv who were left without electricity after Russian shelling on the night of October 10.
Earlier it was reported that after a massive night strike, a significant part of Kyiv was left without electricity. Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko assures: restoration work has already begun, and the power will be restored soon. Later it became known that in Kyiv, power was restored for 270 thousand subscribers . Emergency shutdowns have been canceled in a number of cities.
As a reminder, as a result of the night strike on Kyiv, serious damage was recorded to critical infrastructure and residential buildings . Part of the capital was left without electricity and water, and the number of civilian casualties reached 12 people.
As reported, serious power outages were recorded in the capital on the morning of October 10. Due to strikes on critical infrastructure, the left bank of Kyiv was left without power, and the operation of the metro was partially limited.
