Russia has concentrated an offensive group of 721,300 troops on the territory of Ukraine. At the same time, the occupiers are increasing the use of drones and are not abandoning their plans to seize Ukrainian territories.

This is reported by The Times.

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky stated that the Russian command continues to implement offensive plans and uses the tactics of massive infantry assaults.

“Like last year, they are using the ‘thousand cuts’ tactic, trying to penetrate as deeply as possible into our defense,” Syrsky said.

According to the Commander-in-Chief, in addition to the numerical superiority in manpower, a serious challenge for the Defense Forces of Ukraine is the scaling up of the production of unmanned systems in Russia. He noted that the occupiers are actively adopting Ukrainian experience in drone warfare and implementing it in industrial production.

Syrsky reported that as of June 2026, Russian troops are using about 6–7 thousand FPV drones on the battlefield every day.

According to available intelligence, Russia plans to increase this figure to 33,000 FPV drones per day by the end of 2026. According to the commander-in-chief, this will require a symmetrical response from Ukraine and its Western partners in the development of electronic warfare systems and their own unmanned aircraft complexes.

Earlier, Syrsky reported that Ukraine continues to increase its advantage over Russia in drone warfare . Currently, in terms of the number of FPV drones used, the Ukrainian military is approximately one and a half times ahead of the occupiers, and this gap continues to widen.
