Russian occupation forces have deployed military equipment, ammunition depots, and missile systems on the territory of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, while international IAEA experts lack full access to the facility.
This was reported by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
According to Ukrainian intelligence, military equipment is located directly in the turbine halls of power units No. 1, No. 2, No. 5, and No. 6. The occupiers have set up ammunition depots in basements, technical passages, and bomb shelters. Furthermore, according to the Main Intelligence Directorate, machine gun nests and missile systems are installed on the roofs of the reactor compartments.
Intelligence also reported that Russian military personnel have deployed control centers for Gerbera and Geran drones at the Zaporizhzhya NPP. According to the Main Intelligence Directorate, specialists from the Alabuga Special Economic Zone, a center for drone production and assembly in Russia, have been redeployed to the station for this purpose.
According to the Ukrainian side, approximately 1,500 Russian National Guard service members are providing security at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, and they also replaced some of the technical facilities along the Kakhovka Reservoir.
The Main Intelligence Directorate emphasized that Russian troops have effectively converted the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant into a military base and significantly limited the capabilities of the IAEA mission. According to intelligence, inspections by international experts are conducted only along pre-agreed routes, which complicates or makes it impossible to fully assess the actual situation at the nuclear power plant.
As a reminder, on the evening of June 10 , during Russian shelling, the external power line to the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant was disconnected.
Earlier in the morning on June 4 , the Zaporizhzhia Thermal Power Plant came under heavy shelling , which could threaten the power supply to the occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant.
