Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky announced the intensification of offensive actions by Russian troops virtually along the entire front line. The most tense situation remains in the Pokrovsky direction, where the Russian Federation has concentrated about 106 thousand personnel.
He wrote about this in Telegram .
According to Syrsky, the enemy is regrouping troops and remains highly active in a number of areas. These include, in particular, the Ocheretinsky, Oleksandrivsky, Kupyansky and Kostyantynivsky areas, as well as areas along the state border with Russia.
The Commander-in-Chief emphasized that units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to disrupt the plans of Russian troops, hold the borders, and, under favorable conditions, carry out active actions.
“Despite constant pressure from the enemy, Ukrainian soldiers continue to perform tasks on the territory of Russia – our presence in the Kursk region is maintained,” said Oleksandr Syrsky.
He also noted that the basis of the success of Ukrainian troops remains active defense and initiative on the battlefield.
“This makes it possible to exhaust the enemy, restore positions, and inflict maximum losses on the enemy,” said the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to Syrsky, the daily losses of the Russian army amount to at least 1,000 soldiers killed and wounded.
Separately, he reported that during April 2026, the Joint Fire Support carried out over 64.9 thousand fire missions. Ukrainian artillerymen hit 8.5 thousand enemy targets, and missile units delivered 74 strikes on the enemy.
Syrsky also announced the intensification of missile and drone pressure on Russian territory. Priority targets remain oil refining facilities, transportation of fuels and lubricants, enterprises producing special chemicals, gunpowder, and other facilities of the Russian military-industrial complex.
“In April alone, 84 targets deep inside enemy territory were hit by Deep Strike weapons,” he said.
In addition, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on the work on the transition of the army from a mobilization to a contract recruitment model. According to him, the General Staff should prepare specific proposals for new formats of contract service.
An instruction has also been signed regarding the mandatory replacement of military personnel in front-line positions no later than after 2 months of deployment with an additional month for rotation.
By the way, over the past day , Russian occupation troops have advanced on certain sections of the front in the Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
The day before, Syrsky reported that Russia plans to significantly increase the production of FPV drones in 2026 , while simultaneously increasing units to combat Ukrainian drones. At the same time, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to maintain an advantage in the use of FPV drones and increase the effectiveness of strikes against the enemy.
