Russia has launched sabotage against Danish companies that help Ukraine – media
Russia has begun conducting sabotage operations against Danish companies that supply products to Ukraine. Danish intelligence believes that Moscow has changed tactics and is now focusing on targets that can directly affect the situation on the front.
This was reported by Reuters, citing the Danish National Security and Intelligence Service (PET).
PET senior analyst Josephine Christensen said that in the spring, Danish intelligence agencies had mostly recorded preparations for such operations. However, in the early summer, Russia began to take more active actions.
According to her, Moscow concluded that previous attempts to influence various goals did not force Western countries and NATO to reduce support for Ukraine.
Now Russia is trying to attack facilities directly related to the war in Ukraine. In particular, we are talking about enterprises that produce weapons and other products for the Ukrainian military.
PET also drew attention to the fact that in April the Russian Ministry of Defense published a list of European manufacturers of drones and components that Moscow called potential military targets.
Russian intelligence agencies are increasingly looking for perpetrators for sabotage through Telegram and other social networks. According to Danish intelligence, homeless people, drug addicts, or people who simply want to make a quick buck can be recruited for such tasks.
Initially, recruits are offered simple tasks – for example, to photograph a certain object or conduct reconnaissance. Later, they may be directly assigned to sabotage.
PET notes that Moscow retains political control over such operations, but their perpetrators are acting increasingly boldly.
As a reminder, on the Latvian border with Belarus, the military stopped a group of at least 20 illegal migrants who were trying to be sent to Latvian territory . The masked people accompanying the group were armed and threatened the Latvian military.
