Trust in Russian dictator Vladimir Putin fell by 3.4 percentage points in a week, to 73.3%. This is the sharpest decline since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, according to data from the All-Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VCIOM).

According to the Russian publication ” Agentstvo ,” Putin’s approval rating also declined by 3.5 percentage points to 66.9%. Meanwhile, the share of those who distrust the Russian leader rose to 22.1%.

The deteriorating figures are also confirmed by the Public Opinion Foundation, which collaborates with the Kremlin: according to its data, 70% of respondents approve of Putin’s performance, which is one point lower than the previous week.

At the same time, a Levada Center study revealed an even more significant decline: in June, the Russian president’s approval rating fell from 79% to 74%. The share of Russians who disapprove of his performance also rose to its highest level since autumn 2022, from 15% to 21%.

According to media reports, the decline in ratings is occurring against the backdrop of a fuel crisis caused by attacks on Russian oil refining infrastructure, as well as supply problems in occupied Crimea, which has negatively impacted the tourist season and the fuel situation on the peninsula.
