Russia has transferred paratroopers to the south: the Armed Forces of Ukraine have warned of preparations for assaults

Russian troops are regrouping in the southern direction, preparing to storm Ukrainian positions and attempt to penetrate the rear in small groups.

This was announced by the spokesman for the Defense Forces of Southern Ukraine, Vladyslav Voloshyn, during a telethon.

According to him, the occupiers have transferred some units from other directions to the temporarily occupied areas of Zaporizhia and Kherson regions. There, the Russian military is undergoing combat coordination before new attacks.

“Currently, several units have indeed been transferred, and in particular, these are units of their airborne troops. These are units that are quite shabby, battered in battles, and they are being transferred to the temporarily occupied territories of the Zaporizhia and Kherson regions so that they can go through the stages of restoration and combat coordination,” the spokesman said.

Voloshyn noted that the enemy is actively moving assault groups from rear areas closer to the front line.

“The enemy is preparing to conduct assault operations with small groups of infantry and tactics of seepage and infiltration,” he specified.

Despite this, there has not yet been a large-scale concentration of forces for a serious breakthrough.

“However, it is too early to say whether the enemy will make any breakthroughs here, because we know that the situation on the battlefield is changing quite dynamically. However, at the moment, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have not detected such forces and means in the south,” Voloshyn added.

According to him, the situation in the south – in particular in Zaporizhia, Kherson and Odessa regions – has a tendency to escalate. Over the past day, the occupiers have increased the number of attacks with kamikaze drones and artillery strikes on positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and settlements.

In total, 13 combat clashes were recorded in the southern direction during the day, eight of them in the Hulyaipil direction, where the enemy tried to advance near Poltavka. In the Orikhiv direction, the Russians attacked Ukrainian military positions near Stepovoye and Kamyanske four times, using motorcycles. Another unsuccessful attempt to advance was recorded near the Antonivsky bridges in the Prydniprovsky direction.

As a reminder, it was previously reported that the occupation troops are trying to infiltrate and gain a foothold in the suburb of Stepnohirsk, Zaporizhia region.

The Russian army is also increasing pressure in the Zaporizhia direction . The occupiers are massively attacking buildings in Malaya Tokmachka, Novodanylivka, and neighboring villages, trying to destroy the fortifications before the next assaults.

As is known, Russian troops have intensified offensive operations in the southern direction , trying to establish control over Stepnohirsk, a city of strategic importance for further attacks on Zaporizhia and surrounding areas.
