Russia hits residential buildings in Dnipro: rescuers pull people out of the rubble
Russian occupation forces launched a massive attack on the Dnieper and the region on the night and morning of June 2. The attack continued in waves and caused widespread destruction, fires, and numerous civilian casualties.
This was announced by the head of the Dnipropetrovsk OVA, Oleksandr Ganzha.
“The enemy attacked the Dnipro. A fire broke out. Information about the victims is being clarified,” he noted at the beginning of the night.

Later it became known that the residential sector was hit.
“Due to the Russian strike on the Dnieper, a two-story building was partially destroyed. A fire broke out there,” the OVA reported.
The first victim of the attack was a 73-year-old woman who was hospitalized in serious condition, but she could not be saved.
“Unfortunately, a 73-year-old woman injured during the Russian attack on the Dnieper River died in the hospital,” the administration said.

The number of casualties rose rapidly throughout the night. Initially, three people were reported injured, then 16, and then dozens.
“There are already three victims in Dnipro. All are hospitalized,” one of the early reports said.
Later, it became known about new victims and destruction.
“Four people died in the Dnipro due to a Russian attack,” the OVA reported.
Neighboring communities were also affected. In Kamyanske, fires broke out in residential buildings, and there are injuries.
“Fires broke out in Kamianske due to the Russian attack. One- and five-story residential buildings are burning,” the administration noted.

By morning, the situation had deteriorated significantly. Rescuers continued to clear the rubble of destroyed buildings, and the number of victims was increasing.
“Six people died. 36 were injured,” the OVA reported, describing the situation throughout the region.

It was later confirmed that more people died under the rubble, including a child.
“The Russian attack on the Dnieper cut short the life of a little boy,” said Ganzha.
Final figures as of this morning: at least nine dead, dozens injured, including children.
“Unfortunately, the number of deaths has also increased. The Russians took the lives of 9 people, including one child,” the OVA reported.
Search and rescue operations are ongoing in the city. Dozens of houses have been damaged, apartments and infrastructure destroyed. The number of injured and dead may change, as rescuers continue to clear the rubble.
