Moscow insists that Ukraine and Russia share electricity production from the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, which is the largest in Europe and is occupied by Russian troops.
This is stated in a Politico article citing American officials.
According to the publication, a significant portion of this week’s negotiations focused on economic issues, including who would control the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. However, the parties were unable to reach any agreement on this matter.
One official noted that both sides are already beginning to imagine the benefits they could reap if peace were achieved.
“Both sides are starting to imagine what they can get from peace, such as a prosperity plan for Ukraine and some opportunities for Russia to do business with the United States,” the source told Politico.
