The Kremlin has said it does not want to see representatives of the European Union at the trilateral peace talks to end the war in Ukraine. Moscow has accused the EU of an alleged unwillingness to promote peace.

This was stated by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, writes the Telegram channel “You listened”.

According to Peskov, Russia does not see a position on the part of the European Union that could contribute to a peaceful resolution of the war.

He claims that Brussels is allegedly interested in continuing hostilities, which is why Moscow opposes his participation in the negotiations.

“The European Union adheres to a provocative position aimed at further inciting and prolonging the war. We do not need such participants. And the Americans themselves, who, on the contrary, are trying to achieve peace, hardly need them,” Peskov said.

Meanwhile, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin recently held phone conversations with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre and Finnish President Alexander Stubb. The parties discussed possible ways to end Russia’s war against Ukraine.

After these talks, the Kremlin announced its readiness to continue contacts with the leadership of both countries.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky explained that Norway and Finland joined the discussion of a peaceful settlement not only as European states , but also as neighbors of Russia.

According to him, the leaders of these countries are coordinating their actions with Ukraine, Europe, and the United States and are seeking to play a more active role in diplomatic efforts.

Zelensky also emphasized that Ukraine maintains close relations with Norway and Finland, which continue to help Ukrainians.
