New satellite images have revealed the massive construction of five secret military facilities linked to Russia’s nuclear forces. Analysts warn that Moscow is building up its nuclear infrastructure amid tensions in Europe. The facilities have multi-layered security, special bunkers and logistics for transporting warheads.
This is reported by Business Insider.
It is noted that the American company Planet Labs recorded active construction at at least five sites in Russia and Belarus in May-June 2025. The images show new buildings, roads, antenna systems, and expansion of security perimeters.
Analysts from the Federation of American Scientists indicate that this is part of a large-scale modernization of Russian nuclear forces against the backdrop of the invasion of Ukraine and escalation in Europe.

Location and purpose of objects
1. Belarus — Osipovichi.
The most modernized base is the 1405th ammunition base . Here they built:
- a new security zone with a three-machine perimeter ;
- a covered unloading ramp near the forest;
- control antenna ;
- a platform near the railway for transporting warheads;
- a new block, probably for Iskander missiles.

2. Murmansk — “Hadzhievo” base.
This is a naval base for submarines with intercontinental missiles. In the pictures:
- at least 6 new buildings ;
- probable garages for missiles without warheads or warehouses of conventional weapons.

3. Kaliningrad.
Potential tactical nuclear weapons storage near EU borders. New signs:
- multilayer security ;
- converted bunker ;
- additional building, erected in June 2025.

4. Kamchatka.
Probable nuclear warhead storage :
- reinforced perimeter security;
- two new buildings ;
- active construction near the flanks of the main storage facility.

5. Novaya Zemlya.
Arctic archipelago, where rapid expansion is taking place:
- construction of a large new building completed by June 2025;
- expansion of tunnel infrastructure has been observed;
- preparation of the base for the placement of new facilities.

Analysts believe that these construction works are a signal to the West about Russia’s readiness to expand its nuclear presence in response to military support for Ukraine and increased NATO activity in the region. These facilities cover all strategic directions – from the Baltics to the Far East, including the Belarusian bridgehead.
