Russia is building up troops in Ukraine: strategic reserve has been activated

Russia has begun to mobilize its strategic reserve to replenish its troops on the front in Ukraine.

This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky during a conversation with journalists.

According to him, despite significant losses, the Russian group on the territory of Ukraine is not decreasing, but on the contrary, is growing.

Zelensky explained that Russia suffers losses every month commensurate with the new mobilization, but this does not stop the increase in the number of military personnel in the occupied territories.

“In a month, we destroy the same number of occupiers as they mobilize, but at the same time, the number of their group on the territory of Ukraine is growing. That is, we believe that they are increasing their group by attracting military personnel from the strategic reserve,” Zelensky said.

He added that this issue has already been discussed with the military leadership of Ukraine.

“We discussed this with the Commander-in-Chief and the Chief of the General Staff – how we will counter it,” the president noted.

According to Zelensky, the use of the strategic reserve could have negative consequences for Russia, including weakening security in other areas.

He also emphasized that Russian troops have problems not only in Ukraine, but also on other borders, where the situation remains tense.

Separately, the president announced plans by Russian troops to try to reach a number of settlements in the Donetsk region by the end of April — in particular, Druzhkivka, Kostyantynivka, and Pokrovsk.

However, according to him, these intentions are unrealistic.

“This is impossible, but this is not the first time they have defined a deadline and now they have set themselves such an indicator,” Zelensky said.

He also noted that the assessments of the Ukrainian side coincide with the data of the partners.

“We have a trusting relationship with them. They also don’t see any opportunities for the “Russians” to do this,” the president added.

Let us remind you that the situation at the front remains tense, as enemy units are trying to intensify their assault activity.
