Russia is increasing its activity in the Pokrovsk-Mirnograd agglomeration — Syrsky

Russian troops are increasing their activity in the Pokrovsk-Myrnohrad agglomeration area in the Donetsk region.

This was reported by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrsky, after visiting the front lines.

He met with the commanders of army corps, military units and subdivisions holding back the enemy advance and gave a number of instructions to strengthen defense and logistics.

Syrsky emphasized that, despite the enemy’s information activity, Russian propaganda claims about Ukrainian forces being “blocked” in Pokrovsk (as well as in Kupyansk) are untrue. At the same time, he stated that in Pokrovsk, Russian infantry is amassing in the urban area, shifting locations, and avoiding open combat. Therefore, the defenders’ primary task is to identify and eliminate these threats.

The Commander-in-Chief issued the necessary orders to improve logistics and strengthen the protection of supply and evacuation routes. He also emphasized the importance of discipline and accountability among commanders: every leader must ensure the high-quality execution of tasks, and in the event of irresponsibility, Syrsky promised to impose harsh measures, including dismissal.

In addition, the Dobropillya Operation is ongoing. As of October 30, assault units have advanced locally in some areas by 200 to 550 meters. In total, 186.8 km of Ukrainian territory have been liberated during the operation, with another 246.8 km cleared of enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups.

Syrsky promised to maintain a “smart balance between goals and capabilities,” emphasizing that preserving the lives of service members remains a priority.

It was previously reported that the enemy is attempting to push the demarcation line closer to Pokrovsk and Mirnohrad by conducting massive assaults.

Let us recall that at the beginning of autumn, the Russian command set a goal in the Donetsk region : to capture Pokrovsk, Myrnohrad, and Dobropillya.
